Activity Sampling
Comment An orientation stream sediment survey was carried out downstream of known diatreme locations and was followed by a comprehensive survey of drainages over the permit area. A total of 244 stream sediment samples were collected from high energy sites in various creeks and were sieved on site to produce a miniumum of 20 kg of sand-sized material. Bulk sediment samples were panned down to less than 500 grams. A spiral separator was used to concentrate material to between 2 and 20 mm. Four samples were collected from decomposed outcrop and were panned down in similar fashion to the stream sediment samples. Bulk rock samples were collected from several sites. Samples contained representative material from one or more phases of the showing. Samples selected for initial analysis were shipped to Lakefield Research in Lakefield, Ontario for processing. Samples were split then subjected to attrition milling in order to obtain diamond indicator minerals. Any indicators were then microprobed.
