Comment Geological mapping and prospecting, soil and rock geochemical surveys and four diamond drill holes totalling 208.8 m were drilled to test soil anomalies located in 1979. Work failed to locate any mineralization associated with an economic shale-hosted syngenetic lead-zinc-silver deposit. No significant targets remain to be tested.

Activity Drilling
Comment Diamond drilling was conducted on the 527-1 and 526-2 Project grids. Four holes, two on each grid totaling 208.8 m, were drilled to determine the lithologic source of geochemical soil sample anomalies. All core retrieved from coring attempts was assayed for Pb, Zn, and Ag by the atomic absorption method. Both drill holes on grid 526-2 intersected a weakly metalliferous horizon of an unnamed Devonian unit from which the best values obtained were 44 ppm Pb, 3940 ppm Zn, and 3.4 ppm Ag in Hole BH 54322. Drill holes on 527-1 intersected calcareous, graphitic black shale with calcite stringers and minor pyrite bands after drilling through about 10 m of overburden. Best assays returned: 17 ppm Pb, 1450 ppm Zn, and 1.3 ppm Ag in Hole BH 54325.

Comment All samples were analyzed for lead, zinc and silver by atomic absorption method; barium was analyzed in selected samples by X-ray fluorescence method. All samples returned sub-anomalous values of Zn, Pb, and Ag; however samples from traverse 620b, which identified a massive barite bed exposed over two km, returned assays of 45.9% Ba. Three detailed soil sample grids were extended on Projects 526-2, 526-4, 527-1 of 1979 exploration. Grid lines were established at 200 m spacing with samples collected at 25 m intervals. Three reconnaissance soil sample traverses were established with compass and topofil chain; samples were collected every 50 m. These surveys failed to identify additional geochemical targets.
